Tripura-origin teen Oindrila Chakraborty, a 14-year-old author, podcaster and innovator, has become a semi-finalist at the Top Young Innovators of the UAE, with two ideas selected for the finals.
UAE/Tripura: Fourteen-year-old author, podcaster, book reviewer and young speaker Oindrila Chakraborty has emerged as one of the semi-finalists at the Top Young Innovators of the UAE, marking another milestone in her growing journey as a young creative and problem-solver.
Two of her four submitted ideas have been selected for the finals, with the possibility of being considered for USA patent applications. Oindrila is reportedly the only participant to have contributed more than one idea aimed at solving real-life problems.The shortlisted young innovators were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges comprising professionals associated with leading global institutions, including NASA, WHO, United Nations, Brookhaven National Laboratory in the United States and the United States Air Force.
A Young Voice in Innovation and Literature
Oindrila’s achievement stands out because her work goes beyond innovation competitions. At the age of 13, she published her second novel, Shadows of Rosalia, with Notion Press. The book is available globally through Amazon, Kindle, Kobo, Notion Press and other leading online platforms and bookstores. She had authored her first novella, The Adventures of the Legendary Queen, at the age of 11. Both her books are available worldwide and are also stocked at major bookstores, including Kinokuniya Dubai Mall and Magrudy’s.
Building a Creative Identity at a Young Age
Oindrila is currently working on her third manuscript, an anthology of short stories. She also continues to connect with young readers through her podcast channel, where she reviews books and presents documentary-style episodes. Her podcast reflects her growing interest in literature, storytelling and thoughtful conversations around books. Through this platform, she is developing a voice that combines creativity, curiosity and communication skills.

A recipient of the Creative and Contemporary Arts Scholarship from her British curriculum school, Oindrila has earned several literary recognitions. One of her short stories received an Honourable Mention from Oxford University Press and the Emirates Literature Foundation. Another story won the Readers’ Choice Award and was featured in the anthology The Great Indian Teen Fiction Collective. Her creative works have also appeared in prominent anthologies, including Dasavatara – 10 Avatars of Lord Vishnu and Abhimanyu – Fight Till Your Last Breath, published by Ukiyoto Publishing.
From Book Clubs to International Literary Platforms
Oindrila holds two registered copyrights and has led a book club at the Zayed Central Library. Her contribution to youth literature also earned her an invitation to moderate a panel discussion of young authors at the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature 2026 in Dubai. At the festival, she presented her novels and signed copies for readers, further strengthening her presence as a young author on an international platform.
