Meet Ruhaan Sharma, a 17-year-old student leader, entrepreneur, musician and SkillARC Foundation manager creating social impact through education.
For some, leadership is about holding a position of responsibility. For others, it is about speaking on a stage or representing a school. But true leadership is measured by the lives one influences, the opportunities one creates, and the impact one leaves behind. Ruhaan Sharma, a Grade 12 student at Sun City School, Sector 37D, Gurugram, embodies this philosophy. A former Senior Head Boy (2025) and the Operations Manager at SkillARC Foundation, Ruhaan has built an extraordinary journey that extends far beyond academics. His achievements span entrepreneurship, community service, music, innovation, public speaking, branding, technology, and leadership, making him a remarkable example of how young people can create meaningful change while still in school.
From leading student communities to mentoring underprivileged children, from launching a startup to performing as a musician, Ruhaan has consistently demonstrated that age is never a barrier to making a difference.
One of the most significant aspects of Ruhaan’s journey has been his work with SkillARC Foundation, a student-led organisation dedicated to helping underprivileged children overcome life’s challenges through life skills education. As the Operations Manager, he has played a crucial role in planning initiatives, managing teams, coordinating volunteers, and ensuring that projects are executed effectively. His ability to organise people and translate ideas into action has helped SkillARC reach children who often have limited access to opportunities beyond traditional education.
Ruhaan believes that education is not only about textbooks but also about confidence, communication, creativity, teamwork, and emotional development. Through SkillARC, he has worked to provide these essential skills to children who need them the most. His leadership has contributed to creating an environment where learning becomes engaging, practical, and empowering.
One of his most impactful contributions has been conducting a Music Bootcamp for underprivileged students through SkillARC. As a passionate drummer and percussionist, Ruhaan used music as a powerful tool to inspire confidence, discipline, and self-expression among children. The bootcamp introduced students to rhythm, teamwork, creativity, and the joy of performing, allowing many of them to experience music education for the very first time.
Ruhaan Sharma Combines Leadership, Music and Innovation to Empower Youth

Rather than simply teaching instruments, Ruhaan encouraged students to communicate through rhythm, collaborate with one another, and discover talents they may never have realised they possessed. The initiative reflected his belief that music has the power to build confidence, reduce stress, strengthen communities, and transform lives.
His dedication to community service extends beyond workshops. Through every SkillARC initiative, Ruhaan has demonstrated that meaningful social impact begins with consistency. Whether coordinating volunteers, planning activities, mentoring younger students, or supporting community programmes, he has always prioritised creating opportunities for others. His work reflects compassion, responsibility, and an unwavering commitment to empowering those around him.
Leadership has been a defining characteristic of Ruhaan’s school life. Serving as the Senior Head Boy in 2025, he represented the student body with maturity, discipline, and integrity. He worked closely with students, teachers, and administrators while promoting responsibility, teamwork, and collaboration across the school community. His tenure reflected not only organisational ability but also the trust placed in him by both students and faculty.
Ruhaan’s entrepreneurial mindset is equally impressive. He received a seed fund for his startup idea at One Million Founders, recognising his ability to develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges. He is also the Founder of ZenOut, a startup dedicated to improving mental well-being and emotional balance through futuristic and innovative technology. ZenOut reflects his vision of combining innovation with empathy to address one of the most pressing challenges faced by young people today.

His entrepreneurial journey has been strengthened through valuable industry exposure. Ruhaan completed a Google Internship at Consant Orahi, gaining practical insights into professional environments while still in school. He is also pursuing internships in Business Studies and Entrepreneurship, continuously expanding his understanding of innovation, management, and business strategy.
Creativity has remained central to his journey. As the Branding and Social Media Manager at Shukrana Gifting Solutions, Ruhaan has contributed to building the company’s digital presence through creative campaigns and strategic branding. His understanding of communication, audience engagement, and visual storytelling has allowed him to blend creativity with business objectives.
The Grade 12 student is blending entrepreneurship, music, technology and community service to create opportunities for others.
His passion for engineering, technology, and management is reflected in his involvement with F1 in Schools Nationals, where he served as both Sponsorship Manager and Social Media Manager. Managing sponsorships required professionalism, communication, and relationship-building, while overseeing social media strengthened his expertise in digital marketing and outreach. He also volunteered during F1 in Schools events, contributing to the successful execution of one of the world’s leading STEM competitions for students.
Ruhaan’s interest in technology extends further through his Sound Production course at TGC India, where he developed technical skills in audio production and sound engineering. This experience complements his creative interests while broadening his understanding of multimedia production.
Music has always been more than a hobby for Ruhaan. As a Western percussionist with drums as his primary instrument, he has achieved Grade 5 in Trinity Drums, demonstrating years of dedicated practice and musical excellence. He has participated in numerous music competitions, performed on multiple platforms, and regularly played drums at church. Through every performance, he has displayed confidence, discipline, and an ability to connect with audiences through music.

His creative talents extend into filmmaking and media production. Ruhaan contributed to production and advertisement for Suno Collective and created two short films, exploring storytelling through visual media. These experiences reflect his curiosity, creativity, and willingness to experiment across different forms of expression.
Public speaking has also become one of his greatest strengths. Ruhaan has hosted and anchored multiple large-scale events, confidently engaging audiences while ensuring programmes run smoothly. His ability to communicate effectively has made him a dependable presenter, capable of leading events with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Beyond hosting events, he has conducted numerous workshops, sharing knowledge and experiences with students and participants across different settings. Whether teaching leadership, music, or practical skills, he believes that learning becomes meaningful when it is shared with others.
Ruhaan has actively participated in the Model United Nations circuit, attending multiple conferences while strengthening his diplomacy, negotiation, and public speaking skills. He has also served as the Head of the Organising Committee for Colloquium MUN and as a member of the Organising Committee at IIMUN, helping organise conferences that encourage dialogue, collaboration, and global awareness among students.

His commitment to volunteering is equally noteworthy. Ruhaan has contributed as a volunteer for GPSC events, Techtonik initiatives, and several educational programmes that support student engagement and learning. Each opportunity reflects his willingness to contribute wherever his skills can create value.
His achievements also include securing Second Position in Talent X for Startup Pitch, recognising both his entrepreneurial thinking and presentation skills. He further expanded his leadership capabilities by participating in the IIT Innovation and Leadership Bootcamp conducted in collaboration with Harvard Student Agencies, where he explored innovation, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving alongside aspiring young changemakers.
What truly distinguishes Ruhaan Sharma is not simply the number of achievements listed under his name. It is the purpose behind each one. Every leadership position, every workshop, every performance, every internship, and every project reflects a desire to learn, contribute, and create lasting impact.
At an age when many students are still discovering their interests, Ruhaan has already demonstrated excellence across leadership, entrepreneurship, social service, music, innovation, technology, communication, and community engagement. His journey proves that success is not built through a single achievement but through consistent effort, curiosity, resilience, and a genuine commitment to serving others.
As he continues his journey beyond Grade 12, Ruhaan Sharma stands as an inspiring example of the limitless potential young leaders possess when they choose to lead with purpose. His story reminds us that meaningful change does not begin with age or experience. It begins with the courage to take initiative, the determination to keep learning, and the willingness to uplift others along the way.
